Boxing zones
“Be aware and utilize the 3 zones”
1. Inside Fighting Zone: This zone is usually defined as the distance between the boxers where they are close enough to throw short punches, but not so close that they are tied up. The exact distance can vary depending on the boxers’ styles and physical attributes, but it is generally considered to be within arm’s length. This zone is also sometimes referred to as the “phone booth” because of how close the boxers are to each other.
2. Punch Zone (Danger Zone): This zone is the area from the opponent’s fist to the elbow, which is the range where punches can be thrown with maximum power and accuracy. The size of this zone can vary depending on the boxer’s reach and technique, but it is generally considered to be about one arm’s length away.
3. Safer Zone: This zone is the area outside the punch zone, where the opponent is not within striking distance. This is the safest zone for a boxer to be in, and it is usually where boxers will try to move to avoid getting hit. The size of this zone can vary depending on the boxer’s footwork and the size of the ring, but it is generally considered to be beyond the range of a single punch.
