BOXING DIMENSIONS
In every boxing match or sparring session, there should be a boxing strategy, even if the strategy is not to have any strategy at all.( “The feeling out round”).
Strategies are formed by the different styles that the competitor or coach thinks the opponent will be facing him/her with. Just like anything we face in everyday life, plans or strategies change in the course of the bout therefore, we must learn how to adapt to this change.
DIMENSION/Strategy 1
Being the aggressor- The puncher, coming forward aggressively attacking first or being first and counterpunching along with trying to busy
A lot of times fighters choose this strategy in thinking that. the opponent is the weaker of the two in terms of punching power thus his opponents inability to stop the forward attack, breaking the opponents will to fight, building points in bunches, or simply that the fighter is not skilled in any other style of fighting.
DIMENSION/Strategy 2
Stalking- walking down your opponent. A fighter may choose this strategy for the same reasons mentioned in strategy 1 except in some cases instead of coming forward throwing punches in bunches, the fighter will come forward using precision punching with small combinations or even 1 shot a time setting up power shots.
DIMENSION/Strategy 3
Counter punching- sitting back and counter attack.
In some instances, i fighter can use this counter strategy to exploit his opponents slow reaction time, defensive bad habits, or to just mix up strategies to throw off the opponents reaction time.
DIMENSIONStrategy 4
Boxing backwards- lateral movements and using the ring.
This strategy can be used to exploit the opponents inability to cut the ring off, set up power shots, set *deceptive traps, or to change the dynamic of the fight to throw off opponents mindset.
DIMENSION/Strategy 5
Inside fighting- toe to toe close quarter fighting.
This strategy is used to set up close range power shots like hooks and uppercuts. You can use this strategy to change the dynamic of the fight. Good for using angles and fighting on or from the ropes.
DIMENSION/Strategy 6
Boxer puncher- combine forward, backward, lateral movements, angles using power shots, counter punching, and head movement, passive and aggressive fighter.
The boxer puncher is the complete package
