“Aggressive defense tactics”
Aggressive defense tactics can be effective in avoiding punches and returning counterattacks. Here are some tactics for aggressive defense:
1. Slip and Counter: This technique involves slipping, or moving your head to avoid a punch, and immediately or simultaneously countering with a punch of your own. This requires stellar reflexes and on point timing, but can be highly effective in catching your opponent off guard.
2. Check hook: An aggressive defense move stepping back OR pivoting while simultaneously throwing a hook to the exposed target area.
3. Parry and Counter: A parry is a defensive move where you use the gloves to deflect the incoming punch, rather than trying to block it. After parrying a punch, you can quickly counter or simultaneously throw your punch of your own.
It’s important to note that while aggressive defense tactics can be effective, they do come with risks. If you mistime your counterpunch or leave yourself too open, you may leave yourself vulnerable to a counterattack. It’s important to practice these techniques with a qualified trainer and to use them fittingly in the ring.
